Thule 884 Roll Model Kayak Roof Rack Mount Carrier Specifications
The Thule 884 Roll Model Kayak Roof Rack Mount Carrier makes loading and unloading kayaks easy for one to two people. Designed for use with Thule square load bars (sold separately), the 884 Roll Model centers and guides the kayak onto the rack, distributing weight with a smooth, gliding motioning for easier loading. The 884 Roll Model glides the kayak into the saddles, protects the vehicle and the boat from damage during loading and transport, and offers maximum support and cradling for the loaded boat. The carrier holds one kayak with a maximum width of 36 inches and a maximum weight of 75 pounds and comes with two load straps with padded buckles and two ratcheting bow/stern ropes to secure the kayak effectively to the rack.
The 884 Roll Model uses an integrated roller and saddle design to make loading and unloading easier, and to provide better protection for the boat and vehicle. The mount is equipped with a rear-facing roller that extends the saddle loading point, both protecting the vehicle from boat damage during loading and making it easier to get the boat onto the rack. The roller prevents the boat from making contact with the load bar, keeps loading effort to a minimum, and protects the hull from damage. The low-friction, felt-lined Thule Hydro-Glide rear saddle allows the boat to slide easily into place, and Thule’s adjustable Set-to-Go front saddles conform to the hull’s shape for maximum support during transport.
The 884 Roll Model Kayak Roof Rack Mount Carrier comes complete with all the straps necessary to transport one kayak, including two load straps with padded buckles and two ratcheting bow/stern ropes.

[if I recently got a pair of the Thule 884 Roll Model Kayak Carriers. These things make loading and unloading our two 19-foort tandem kayaks much easier. It use to be a struggle for 2-3 people to load/unload our boats. now i can do it single-handedly if needed. I did have an issue with some missing parts on one of the units but acouple of email with Thule got that resolved and I quickly got replacement parts. these raks are a bit expensive but overall they may taking the boats much easier.]

I recently got a pair of the Thule 884 Roll Model Kayak Carriers. These things make loading and unloading our two 19-foort tandem kayaks much easier. It use to be a struggle for 2-3 people to load/unload our boats. now i can do it single-handedly if needed.
